Hi Brandon : Yes , please do let us know how you made out . These new 45nm quads look awesome and I'm hoping that there will be a nice little dual-board for them by next christmas , something like the Asus Dual PC-DL , for the HT Xeons (a few years back) . Maybe I'll be able to side-grade to a 64 bit RS/XP dual boot system myself , by then too .

And yes, I will definitely be running XP 64 bit for max performance. This will be build as a work machine, but I'll do a dual boot for regular XP so I can take advantage of a new game or two. > > The main reason I'm waiting for the new Q9450 is the extra 4MB shared cache > (12MB total) and the new power saving features; oh yes, and the boost in performance from the drop down to 45nm :) From tomshardware reports I've read, this thing should OC easily up to 3.4 or 3.6 GHz on air. > > I'll update later. > Regards, > Brandon > > >> Side note - it renders at least 2x the speed of v5. > >> Can't wait to get it running on a new quad core in January when the next > >> Intel procs are available... =) > > > >Hi Brandon : > > > > Some of the new Quads are pushed back until feb-march .
