Ummm...good question. Force of habit, I guess. I checked them out to see
what was the current version, and just am used to building stuff once I
check it out. Not needed in this case, since we're not doing any
customization.

Come to think of it, I was also using the CE POM, so maven wouldn't find the
enterprise modules anyway. Changing to the Enterprise POM gets maven looking
to the right place to download enterprise modules, but I haven't totally
sorted out getting maven to download from the secure repositories. Will keep
on that...

I did try entering the key manually too as you'd suggested, but didn't have
any luck.

I eventually figured out, however, that including the Enterprise module in
the build does the trick. (We had been including only the LDAP module from
Enterprise in our build up to now, so it hadn't been necessary before.) Got
the transactional activation working a few minutes ago.

I was, however, a bit disappointed to see that one can still delete a page
in the Authoring stage, and problems with deactivating the content on the
public servers don't prevent the page from being deleted on the Authoring
stage. Thus, it's apparently still possible to get Author and Public stages
out of sync if there's a problem during deactivation. :(

Anyway, thanks for the help, Grégory (as always). Your presence and willing
assistance on the list is a great asset to Magnolia.
