Hi Toby
If you logged in as "superuser", you will notice nothing on activation!
The reason is that the default setup does not automatically activate.
It uses the Workflow feature. This means that the page you want to
activate will land in the "Inbox" for review and from there you
activate the page.
But, if you check your Inbox, you will not see anything again. The
reason here is that the "superuser" is not member of the "publisher"
group, to which the workflow step went to.
What you have to do is to logout and login as "patrick" (pw "patrick")
and then check the Inbox. You should see the page(s) you wanted to
activate.
While the Workflow is a powerful feature to delegate content
responsibility to the authors (and used widely in production), it
might be cumbersome for first-time users. Another issue you will
notice is that you can not activate "trees", only individual pages.
If you want to get around workflow, there is a workaround: Use the JCR
Browser in "Tools" to activate a page or a tree of pages.
Cheers

Hi Jackson,
Thanks for your answer.
No, unfortunately it is not because of caching.
Is there any way I can troubleshoot this?
Toby.

Hi Toby,
If you did a default installation, activation should work fine out
of the box. In this case, your issue probably has to do with browser
caching. Try closing your browser or use a different browser to test
it out.
Good luck,
Jackson

Hi Magnolians!
I've just installed my first instance of Magnolia.
I have now MagnoliaAuthor and MagnoliaPublic.
That's what I am doing -
1. I change a page on MagnoliaAuthor.
2. I activate that page (right click - activate)
3. The dot turns green
4. MagnoliaPublic page stays unchaged
5. magnolia-activation.log is empty.
Did I miss something?
Magnolia 3.6.3
Windows 2003
Tomcat 5.5
Thanks!
Toby.
