Yes - one of the ways, with the default workflow, is to have a "startDate" property on your pages. The default workflow definition will take into account (the property name might not be accurate, check the workflow definition) - i *think* some of the sample pages have that property in their dialog.

Question 2:

Can we have a clustered environment of Author / Public Magnolia instances?

Currently that mostly depends on Jackrabbit, and don't officially support it yet. However, you can have multiple public Magnolia instances (each with their own non-clustered repo) without any problem, that's a basic support setup.

Question 3:

We want to setup more than one repository. We want to save everything to an
external DB (say MySQL). When we say everything then it means content,
images, doc, etc. Can it be done?

I'd venture a yes, despite the lack of clarity of your question ;)
