Look for "category":
STK > Template Definition > stkHome > category = home
try playing with that NodeData and look the behaviour.
There are few pre-configured values to use: home / section / content ...
I would reckon that the first
things new users of Magnolia would like to do is create their own
sitestructure and the corresponding templates from scratch. Maybe i've
overlooked some quickstart info on this topic?
STK documentation is still under construction, so I think you may
consider to take a deeper look into code.
