Hi Olaf,
as Matteo said you are not constrained to STK, if it doesn't fit your
needs you can write your own set of templates.
Please see [1] for general documentation on how to start developing with
Magnolia and [2] for templating guide in particular. This documentation
is currently still referring to version 3.6 as we are in process of
updating the documentation for version 4.0. There is also training for
developers which would help you to get up to speed quickly if you are
going to do a lot of templating work.
