Hello, Magnolians. :)
Hi Bogdan, welcome here!
I have a very silly questions, but please forgive me:
1. How to make my own module? For example, to "embed" a simple
Servlet, let's say. Or a JSP page. Is it possible? If yes, is there a
simple essential HOWTO for hello world to get an idea? Let's say, I
want to read my silly RDBMS, select some stuff and make an HTML table,
then show in one of my pages, let's say Article. Is it possible at
all?
The answer is: yes, it is possible.
JSP support is still there, just change template type from STK (or what
ever you see) to jsp and point to a JSP (templatePath node data).
It will render your jsp.
2. Since I do GWT a lot, I found this:
http://wiki.magnolia-cms.com/display/WIKI/How+to+use+GWT+to+build,+validate+and+submit+a+form
— but I could not understand that part "make the files browsable". How
generally it is done? Where I should copy them? It would be just that
awesome to have GWT running in Magnolia CMS seamlessly!!
Oh, it is a standard Magnolia question, don't worry.
Magnolia, by default, wraps all the requests except the ones starting
with "/docroot" (and few others), so place what you need to be download
"directly" to the browser in this directory.
E.g., place GWT js on /docroot/gwt/*.js
The same should be done for static css, static images, and so on...
HTH,
matteo
