Anyway, back to the topic, it should be absolutely easy to implement this.
Just extend the template definition model and add a custom variable,
eg: templateHint = true/false
Then, inside the template, you can enable that feature:
[#if def.templateHint]
[...@iwouldpreferhereamacro or include--- /]
[#/if]
It is just an idea...
