Hi all,
I'm currently in the process of selecting a Java based CMS for our website.
OpenCMS was our first choice until I found Magnolia. I really like the set
of features offered by Magnolia CE and thinking of having that as our CMS.
Kindly help me with some suggestions / comments with followings if possible.
I think it is a good choice!
1) Implementing a simple blogging feature ( a common page with snippets of
all the blogs and blog archives, and an easy way for an authorized user to
add blog contents )
A blogging module is under development :-)
But it is not difficult to implement your own, maybe looking at news /
event mechanism offered by 4.1.
I think in less then one week you can see something interesting, maybe
with categories / tag clouding / blogroll...
2) Version control - A way of rolling back to previous versions of content
if needed
Versioning is by default supported on website workspace.
You can for instance rolling back to a previous version of a webpage.
3) Backup the contents
There are JSP scripts for CE version, but we have implemented our backup
mechanism with packager support.
It works and it is scheduled, site by site, multiworkspace, ...
I think we can deliver it to community if needed...
