I have had a problem few times and re-indexing always made it go away (the issue is caused by the fact that indexes are generated asynchronously and do not stop the shutdown, so after the restore they might not be finished yet when the main restore thread already initiated shutdown). The other things we can look for: - were there any errors in the log files from startup? - any errors during the restore? you might want to post your log files to pastebin.com or similar service and post the links to them here so we can have a look. ... more thoughts: - the DB schema into which you restored the instance was clean right? - the restore was made into exactly same version of Magnolia as the one in which the backup was made? - if nothing else helps, you might want to follow the guide on wiki on how to reset superuser password.
