yes, path property is deprecated but as far as I know it's not 
forbidden at all (at least it still works for me locally with 4.3.1).
Anyway thanks for letting us know, colleague of mine involved in
documentation already changed that for paragraphs, but unfortunately 
forgot on templates. It was also already updated for template 
properties overview:

again true, see MAGNOLIA-2810 [1] for details about this topic we fixed 
for 4.3 but imho it should not cause the issue you mentioned, just 
a warning is logged.
