Will, We store shop data in KonaKart and built a new KonaKart client inside Magnolia. KonaKart does use a DB and JDBC to access the data and then provides a KonaKart client that runs on the Magnolia side for access to all its information, placing orders, etc. The Magnolia side only access data through the KonaKart Java interface, so no JDBC there.
