Subject: Search functionality
Hello,
I am very interested in the Search functionality provided in the STK, but I have noticed that it does not work as some of the documentation states. The document Magnolia_CMS_Comparison_Chart.pdf states the following:
"Access-controlled search also based on meta-data
Search is fully access controlled within Magnolia and returns only the content which users have access to. One can search over all accessible information or retrieve content by typed meta-data information such as author, year, keywords or any other information that has been configured as a search option."
However, when I've tested the search page provided with the STK and the demo project, I have put content under the protected section (members area), hoping that the pages within this section would only show in the search results of the authenticated users. However, the search results show the protected pages. When I try to access the protected page, I am redirected to the login page as expected. But the assertion that Magnolia returns only the content which users have access to is false.
The page http://www.magnolia-cms.com/magnolia-cms/standard-templating-kit.html states:
"Search Results
The Search Result template is used to customize a search results page. It highlights the search term in its displayed result snippets. The number of displayed results can be configured and the template provides paging through the result set."
However, currently (version 4.4) I don't see any evidence that there is pagination provided in the STK template.
My question is: what is the real status of the search functionality? Is pagination provided or not? Is search limited by users permissions or not? Where can I find more information regarding the search functionality and configuration?
Thank you for your attention,
Claudia Guerrero
