Dear Rob, Frisbee was developed on a Magnolia with ETK, but the dependency from ETK is not a goal of the project. Running Frisbee without the need of ETK installed is surely an improvement to the existing code. ETKImagingSupport is used in the Flicker's paragraphs and probably in the Google Map's paragraphs to resize images.
New developments are not on going at this moment, so my advice is to download the code and change it to suit your needs, instead of developing again a new integration of facebook. HTH, Thank you.
