I'm not sure, but maybe is a better approach for your URL-rewriting to use
Magnolia functionality, see

With the class info.magnolia.cms.beans.config.RegexpVirtualURIMapping you can
use regex.

Hi Nikolaus, the uri mapping does not help, since that is what I am trying to
move away from. Originally I just had a regex that forwarded
/ucp/books/book/xxx to /books/bookDetail.html?{matched regex pattern).
This approach does work and the response from bookDetail.html is indeed cached.
