Hi Tullio!
The UUIDs have to be generated by you, as you produce the XML data for each
user.
Each user needs a unique UUID, or you will cause errors on import, or worse,
overwrite something that already exists in the repository.
The UUID has the format:
HEX_CHAR = [abcdefABCDEF0123456789]
UUID_PATTERN= HEX_CHAR{8}-HEX_CHAR{4}-HEX_CHAR{4}-HEX_CHAR{4}-HEX_CHAR{12}
and is further described at the IETF under RFC 4122:
http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc4122.txt
Basically, if your users have an existing "ID" of some kind, I would put that
ID at the front, and generate a random "ending" for your UUID, for example
<ID>-1234-1234-1234-1234567890ab
You need to zero-pad your ID to 8 characters length.
That should work.
Regards from Vienna,
Richard
