Hi Jochen! Yes, Versioning is an EE Feature. Although it can be enabled on the underlying Jackrabbit Repository also in CE Edition, AFAIK there are no GUI elements for Versioning in the CE edition.
In EE edition Versioning can be enabled for any workspace, but the GUI exposes it for the Website and DMS workspaces. Not sure about Data.
