The thing is that the /modules/adminInterface is not bootstrapped from xmls but provided by installation task. So that different uuids are generated for the same content/path for Author and for Public. If you activate it, the uuids are overwritten but the old references are still there so the LazyContentWrapper throws exceptions that can't reinitialize nodes (since these are already gone). Actually only the server restart is enough to let her take new situation into account (you don't need to reinstall the adminInterface).
