An other idea might be to offer your content as RSS feed (or any XML format) 
and have Magnolia fetch it periodically. In fact the "importer" mechanism in 
the data module is quite extendable. You could even have your data in a file 
(text, xml, excel...) or a db and have Magnolia import it periodically. 

If you want to _push_ content to Magnolia you might want to look at the 
activation process and do something similar.
