Jochen, Unfortunately, yes, it's true, we had to cancel the conference. You were informed early and personally by Ben, because you were one of the "early bird" registrars. So, since we're on the subject, ... well, yes, we do postpone the conference, and the call for papers isn't related to that decision. We've always had a vague feeling that spring/summer would be a better time for the Magnolia Conference. Magnolia 5, which we promised to deliver at the next conference, takes a LOT of work, as you can guess. Postponing the conference, though a difficult choice, was one that hopefully allows one thing: keep our promise. We're convinced a delayed conference will be in everybody's interest, and worth the wait. We're hoping to see you there, and rest assured, you'll hear from us in the meantime; there should be other, perhaps unexpected, releases in the meantime.
