Dear Magnolians Is anyone of you actually using the stk/form-module versions of the public user registration forms? What are your experiences with them. I must admit I have not studied the form module thoroughly yet but the way I understand it, each field can be validated and an appropriate error message can then be displayed. Once the fields are validated there is only a fail or success answer from processors.
Let's take the password reminder form for instance: http://demopublic.magnolia-cms.com/demo-features/modules/public-user-registration/PURPassword.html If you enter an invalid username, a totally useless error message is being displayed ("Internal error, form could not be sent"). The same thing happens when you try to register a username which already exists with the registration form. Of course I would like to to things according to the "best practices", but I guess I must be missing something here... - Should these forms be extended with custom validators? - Is it easy to improve the error handling on processor errors? - Or is this stuff simply "experimental" or "pre-alpha" and one should use custom forms for now? Best regards and a happy new year! -will ---------------------------------------------------------------- For list details, see http://www.magnolia-cms.com/community/mailing-lists.html Alternatively, use our forums: http://forum.magnolia-cms.com/ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <[email protected]> ----------------------------------------------------------------
