The Public User Registration(PUR) module in Magnolia 4.5.x is not checking the password of the public users ( created under Security -> Public Users). It simply allows logging in with no password or any password. [ The demo site, http://demo.magnolia-cms.com also exhibit the behavior]
How/where to configure the password checking? Any pointers/hints welcome.
