Yeah, we ran into a problem where other users joining the cluster would not 
have the mgnl:deleted nodetype in their custom_nodetypes.xml. Copying over that 
file from a working instance is a workaround.

This issue is known as http://jira.magnolia-cms.com/browse/MAGNOLIA-4362. It 
was fixed for Magnolia 4.5.3, but not for 4.4.x (which we're on currently).
