There was a thread about this topic on this mailing list recently, IIRC...

Maybe do a search in the forum.
I think the problem is the group is not provided automatically, so you have to 
write a bit of Java code to inject the group into the workflow instance when it 
is created. You can do this by subclassing the activation command.

Hello,

I'm new to Mangolia and this forum. I'm currently working on the workflow 
activation/deactivation in OpenWFE, and I need to be able to determine the 
group(s) to which the user launching the workflow belongs.

The documentation talks about the property username which is the "username of 
the current user who lauched the workflow"; I need the group(s) equivalent.

Any help is appreciated in advance.
