can you provide the [1]?

Usually honeypot doesn't work when
- spammers employ real humans to fill the forms
- targeted attack (someone manually analyses your form and then adjusts bot 
setting to get correct submission)

As for the easy and quick improvements you can possibly 
- vary the name of the field or 
- have it pre filled with the value that is valid only for limited time, etc. 
- limit number of posts from same IP

Alternatively (and pbly best) is to implement specialised solution such as 
Akismet. Maybe someone already did.
