I also wanted to note that I have followed the instructions at http://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/templates/stk/template-prototype.html#Componentinheritance and added the content node named inheritance directly under the area of the parent page and added the properties of components = all and enabled = true under that inheritance content node. The child page still does not inherit this area from the parent page. Any help or suggestions are much appreciated.
