Funny, I was kind of following this process that you are talking about - dissecting the finished template piece by piece into areas - which worked quite well for me but I wasn't quite sure if that was the right approach. Now I have my certainty on it. On the other hand, I was not reusing the STK model classes which sounds like a promising idea for some of my projects. So I guess this would be a good way to reuse some of the STK work.
