So in your webapps directory, you have a magnoliaAuthor.war file that gets
deployed when you start tomcat?

Or have you already started up once, during which tomcat deployed the
magnoliaAuthor webapp into its own directory and deleted or renamed the WAR
file? And now you are trying to restart tomcat and the magnoliaAuthor app is
failing to start?

Are you just trying to run with the default (Derby) persistence manager?

It would be very helpful if you could post the contents of your
magnolia.properties file. It *looks* like a property has a null/empty name or
value in your magnolia.properties file but unless you share it I can't begin to
guess which entry may be mangled.
