Btw, I would be happy to add my findings/instructions to the Magnolia
Wiki. If this should be of interest, then where should I add it to?
Absolutely, in order to contribute to wiki all you need is just create jira
login (at http://jira.magnolia-cms.com ) and with that you can edit wiki. I
think you can start by rewriting the outdated page you mentioned in your first
page or any of the pages linked from there. Or maybe some others have even
better idea where to start (@Antti, @Gavan ;) ).
- Curiosity how Magnolia works
Great the more ppl build it the better. :)

- I have developed a custom log4j Appender and would like to check what
it means to get it integrated with for example Magnolia
Cool. BTW to change the appender you can just download already built Magnolia
webapp (CE or EE) and drop your appender in WEB-INF/classes or WEB-INF/lib and
then just change default log4j config in WEB-INF/config/default/log4j.xml
Do I first need to build something else?

(btw, I get the same error when trying to build the master branch)
No, I don't think you need to build anything else, but most likely you need to
add Magnolia's maven repository to your maven configuration.
http://wiki.magnolia-cms.com/display/DEV/Maven+setup should have all the info
necessary to get you going.

Cheers,
Jan
