Hi Christian,

I see several solutions:

1) as you say, create a component which invalidates the cache at the right time
2) set the cache-expiry-time to a lower value, so that the short delay doesn't
matter (would 10 minutes matter?)
3) perform the hiding/showing client side (use javascript), so that the entire
page can be cached (not a good solution if the items are really secret)
4) disable cache for this page

Option 1) might be the "most perfect" solution, but it's also a lot more work
than the others...

Regards from Vienna,

Richard

Betreff: [magnolia-user] Caching the Newsoverview Component

Hi Magnolia folks

The news overview component of the STK shows all the news of the past. Now if a
news page has a date in the future it won't be displayed and the news overview
will be cached without this item. As soon as the news date passes the news
overview won't show it, because it's still cached.

So in theory I'd need something to observe the news and then invalidate the
cache as soon as a news date passes, right? Or am I missing something?

Cheers :)
