No, I'm not hijacking my own thread, I just did some more research and have to state that the original subject was totally wrong! It's not a Safari problem, it's not a Firefox problem, it's a JVM problem with magnolia-bundled-webapp and Java 7 on Mac OS X. When building the empty webapp everything is fine. As soon as I switch to bundled webapp, we get lost connections and JVM crashes. For those interested, you can find the exact description here:
