Hi,

I think you should maybe take a look at magnolia's rest interface.

Instead of saving your data in duplicate to a second database (duplicating data 
is *really* bad practice!) just so you can read it from your external tool, why 
not have the tool query the data from magnolia via REST? Your tool could 
receive the data as JSON from magnolia, and then work from there.
In this way you would not need a second database, would not duplicate your 
data, and could access the data out of magnolia directly from your external 
script...
