Hi there,

Quite confused about how the Date field and time zone (e.g. article date chosen
by editor via datepicker) is handled in Magnolia.

Consider this scenario:

Editor location: Singapore, UTC+8
Server location: Hawaii, UTC-10
Website user location: Pacific time, UTC-8

So when editor creates an article, he/she chooses the creation date to be say
Sept. 17, 17:00.

she thinks this Sept. 17 17:00 is
Sept. 17 17:00 (Singapore, UTC+8)
converted to Hawaii:
Sept. 16 11:00 (Hawaii, UTC-10)
converted to Pacific:
Sept. 17 2:00 (Pacific, UTC-8)

But since the server is in Hawaii, how will Magnolia process and store this
datetime, based on Singapore or Hawaii timezone? More specifically, what will
be the exact datetime stored in database?

Then when the user reads the article, what will the displayed datetime be? And
what timezone will it be based upon?

Ideally of course, what we want is:
The date is stored based on editor's timezone, i.e. Sept. 17 17:00 (Singapore,
UTC+8),

Then when the user reads it, he/she will see it displayed in the user's
timezone, i.e. Sept. 17 2:00 (Pacific, UTC-8).

Please help. Thanks!
