He Raju, thx for reporting the problem including the detailed steps to reproduce it. It's definitively a bug and it looks like it hadn't been reported so far. My guess is AbstractJcrContainer#sort(Object[], boolean[]) simply has to reset the cache e.g. by calling clearItemIndexes().
