Hi Will, hi all! thanks for your request. First and foremost: Big apologize for our silence! Regrettably, I've to admit that we didn't meet the intended timeline and I feel also very sorry that we didn't let you know any status update yet. The reason is just two-fold: we're just too busy in daily project work plus - the good news ;-) - we've put tremendous efforts in making Kickstart production ready! The product has so far been proofed in 3 real live projects, one being live already (see http://www.scherb.de/) and the other two following very soon.
So, here's the official status update (well "inofficial" since it's not our official channel ;-)): * [b]Kickstart Alpha 1 is actually released![/b] It's been in our publicly available Maven repo for over 6 weeks now - checkout: http://repository.lemonize.de/kickstart.releases/io/kickstart/ if you're curious. Though, we did not communicate the release yet, because... * we're working on the [b]new kickstart.io Website[/b], including trial license generation etc. etc. which will be the official communication channel - of course, we'll be doing the new page with Kickstart itself, which will be the fourth site. * we're fixing issue by issue, that we're realizing making the first projects. With the release of the official website, we'll be releasing Kickstart Alpha 2. Actually, this should really be named atleast "Beta" since the stuff that's there can almost be considered production ready. However, there 3 little features/improvements that we still want to implement for the final. Once these features are done, Beta and Release will follow quickly. * we've to work on the documentation. There's a good bunch of infos there (see https://lemonize.atlassian.net/wiki/display/KICKSTART/Kickstart+Home) but some more practical guides to getting started are missing (using Kickstart got much more simple and intuitive than the documentation promises right now). We decided to not publish Kickstart until it's really ready so that you won't be disappointed... today I'm quite sure that once you used it, you'll be more than happy and surprised how well it works ;-) I'm resisting to promise another deadline when we will officially announce the availability of Kickstart - believe us, we're working the hardest possible way to make this happen really soon. [b]But: The most excited and curious folks out there[/b] are invited to checkout the documentation ("Getting started guide") and [b]start using Kickstart Alpha1 even NOW[/b].
