Thanks very much Philipp. I fully agree with you that from your
perspective this is completely correct. However I have noticed that
Safari support is `with some limitations´ this leaving the Mac world
without too many alternatives.
we will improve the safari support (it is better now). But you should
use firefox on mac instead of safari (this is my development
environment).
Coming back to the 2nd part of my question: how hard would be to
develop/replace basic html interfaces?
The big deal would be, that you must completely refactor the tree. And
some dynamic interface stuff (role acl, ..)
An estimation for a skilled person: 30 working days.
But i would avoid it. the upgrading effort would increase immense from
version to version.
An other approach:
- make a template in which you can add, remove subpages (add a button
in the main bar which pops up a dialog for example).
- use the admincentral only for users having a supported browsers.
perhaps not everyone must be able to modify the config, permissions,
...
- the effort would decrease a lot i think
