Good to hear that I could help.
The "Magnolia Developer Training" is NOT the pdf or whatever. It is a
four day comprehensive training for JSP/Java Developers, who want to
build web applications based on Magnolia and its content repository. The
fancy problem we recognize is not the JSP/Java, but the understanding of
the repository. So taking this class does not teach you any JSP/Java.
Instead you learn a lot about the hierarchically organised repository
and how to manage it. Additionally you also learn how to use and extend
Magnolia's CMS to do whatever you want your authors to do (e.g. create a
dialog control, which shows a list of available images or files).
To reallybenefit from using Magnolia and your JSP/Java skills, it's a
"must" to understand the concepts and strategies behind the "Content
Repository API for Java Technology". Implementing experienced concepts
helps you reduce costs tremendously (especially on maintaining existing
and developing new projects).
Check Magnolia's website
(http://www.magnolia.info/en/magnolia/services/training/developer-training.html)
for more details (or contact me directly: gberner at xumak dot com).

Giancarlo,
I greatly appreciate your response! Thank you! It sounds like
we'll be able to do what we need by extending Magnolia, if the
feature doesn't already exist. One final question though - you
mention the "Magnolia developer training". Are you referring to the
Magnolia.pdf document from the developer section of the website, or
something else?
Thanks,
