The other approach many CMSs end up doing is creating their own set of applications (the usual supspects like Forum, login, feedback, etc.) based on their own application framwork. With similar drawbacks.

Terry Jeske has been kind enough to post his code how he integrated Magnolia and Spring/MVC to the Wiki [1]. Some things to consider are (using the example of Tapestry as a framework, but most apply to any framework): - Who's responsible for content delivery (i.e. do you send reuqests to a Tapestry application, which then makes requests to magnolia pages or the other way around) - How to handle content editing (magnolia normally uses the same code to show a page to end users and to editors, so you have to make sure that Tapestry doesn't interfere with magnolia's MVC framework used for editing pages) - In the case of Tapestry: What makes a pages in the Tapestry sense? A magnolia Template? - Do you put your apps and magnolia in a single web application? In the end the best soulution would probably be one, that allows you so seamlessly integrate already existing applications into a magnolia website. The "standard" answer to the problem seems to be to go down the portlet route. What do you think? -markus [1] http://www.magnolia.info/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=MagnoliaSpring > John > > - -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Tuesday, November 29, 2005 7:33 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [magnolia-user] Tapestry > > Hi John, > > Not that I'm aware of.
