The much more annoying thing is that you also have to copy the images
and files (uploaded by the Author)

really?? so what's left for the activation?

copying templates and static resources is a development effort, magnolia activation provides content (authored content) replication to the live website.

Hi All,

I was trying to create my own template according to
the tutorial of magnolia.

After creating template i have activated the page but
it not reflected in magnoliaPublic site.but i was
getting following error.

HTTP Status 404 -
/templates/jsp/samples/testPublic/testPublic.jsp

--------------------------------------------------------------------- --
---------
type Status report

message
/templates/jsp/samples/testPublic/testPublic.jsp
description The requested resource
(/templates/jsp/samples/testPublic/testPublic.jsp) is
not available.

So if i am trying to access page then it is retrieving
the correct information but files are not copied into
the magnoliaPublic directory.

If i will copy this template Jsp on desired location
then it is working fine.

I think on activation magnolia supposed to copy all
files to the desired location.

Can anybody help me in this scenario or we are
supposed to copy files for each and every change which
seems to me quite unlikely :)

IIRC the quickstart states loudly that you have to copy template files
manually.
Thats the way it is. The intention however is not to change the
templates every day ;-)
Its up to you to implement a deplyoment scenario. That does not mean
you have to do it manually
