Hi,
Today I have been looking through OpenCms mail-list archives and found
one interesting message:
Magnolia is in child shoes, even it claims to be JSR-170 compliant, but
it can't beat opencms in any other fields.
OpenCMS 6.x / 7 will become JSR-170 / 168 conform. Magnolia has a very
goog marketing strategy, from which we shall learn a little bit and
promote opencms as the leading enterprise aware content management
system!
Can you comment this? I decided to use Magnolia, it's UI is so nice -
not like the one in OpenCms, but it seems that Magnolia is loosing in
features to OpenCms and when OpenCms will become JSR-170 conform...
what specific features?

afair back in the days of evaluating OpenCMS the only thing that kept my attention was the version
and the fact that they looked like offering more independent packages (I cannot really name any of
them, now). According to the current structuring of Magnolia this will be easier to be done here.
But somebody needs to start contributing modules back to the project ;-). A good start would
probably be a forum module, or something in this direction. From this type of module, everybody
would be able to see how to develop a module and what are the requirements but also the benefits of
using JCR.
