Well for my part I succeeded putting a servlet filter in front of
SimpleExchangeServlet.

Hi Brenden
Thomas is right that its more of a workflow, but until then you still
have other options
1. override SimpleExchangeServlet.
OR
2. observe any content changes, you can see how its done for config
workspace, it observes any modifications and reload configuration
accordingly.

I am jumping to this thread to add some more details I have faced while
thinking about it:
- if you need synchronious events than you should consider extending the SimpleExchangeServlet.
Sameer and I have been trying to make it as extensible as possible, so this scenario to be doable.
- if you need asynch events than you should consider JCR observation optional feature. This is quite
good explained in the spec and Sameer pointers to the conf reload code is gonna offer you good
guidelines.

Hi all,
What would be the best way to have certain events be trigged when
content is activated? For instance, I want to update an RSS file or
send out an email whenever a certain piece of content is activated.
How would I go about doing that?
Thanks!
