Yes. Try creating a separate style using the @print media type. Within this declaration you can declare specific rules to format the page for printing (i.e., hiding navigation, headers, footers, or whatever you please).
Please take a look at http://www.americandatacompany.com/about. You'll see that no special printer friendly version of the page is needed. Just click the print button (or print preview) and you'll see we've formatted it for printing using css. No need for a separate template to output a printer friendly page. Good luck!
