Hi All,
This is perhaps a better question for the jackrabbit list, but I thought I'd ask here since I want experience from people deploying magnolia. T he question has come up if we can have multiple installations of a magnolia public instance share the same filesystem and rdbms? The implied question being if it is possible to have multiple (read-only) jackrabbit processes concurrently access the same storage (ie filesystem, lucene indexes, rdbms, etc.) I've read the jackrabbit deployment options document (http://jackrabbit.apache.org/doc/deploy.html). And it as well as my gut feeling suggest such a configuration would be one of: a bad idea, non-functional, or unreliable. But I am open to contradiction. Anyone using such a configuration? Some reasons one might use such a configuration are fail over, reduced use of resources, eliminating synchronization problems, avoiding use of rmi, etc. Cheers, Chris ---------------------------------------------------------------- for list details see http://www.magnolia.info/en/magnolia/developer.html ----------------------------------------------------------------
