My idea is that I could use this information to get jMeter to access every page, and I could then look at the log files from tomcat. This would seem to be the easiest way to check every single page in a site for any errors.
Errr, ever heard of wget? There are also a bunch of free, small and simple tools to check sites. It might even be that google sitemaps could help you :)
