We encountered the <a hre<br />f="link ">-feature too! And we can
also confirm that import/export is not working on Tomcat 5.5 on
Solaris: HTML code is only partially encoded and decoded. To me this
looks like a problem in the XML-Library that is being used. Other
than that I would not know where to look. After all most of the used
libraries are in WEB-INF/lib, so they come with the webapp. Therefore
they should behave the same way on any servlet container.

From what I foud, It is related to the bootstrap process, and it is
related to the container and/or the JVM, as I could at one time
reproduce the bug on a Tomcat/Sun JDK/Win XP setup, and not with
the exact same magnolia wars on a Tomcat/MacOS Java one.
The issue occured on both the default derby repository, and a mysql
repository.
There clearly is an issue there.
On a related note, I have noticed that the xml exports of the
website repository were misbehaving on the samples: text/paragraph
paragraph. An proper XML import from properly exported part of the
tree would produce Line breaks out of nowhere inside paragraphs,
AND be converted to <br />s in the HTML output. So sometimes it can
give <a hre<br />f="bla bla bla "/>. Paragraph format is also lost
(well of course it is).
Maybe it is not related, but the issue looks similar to me : the
xml export or import (that I guess is used for activation as well
as export/import servlets) has an issue with line breaks, and I
really don't know why.
This is important because backups need much work to be reimported
in case of emergency (reformating of all paragraphs to place line
breaks properly).
I'm not any wiser on the cause of this, though.
Guillaume.

Hi Sean and Phillip,
I do have the same problem: On the Author part I use the table
paragraph, and if I activate the content to the public part, the
table is condensed to the table header.
The CR is lost, I think.
I am using the latest Magnolia 3.01
Likewise, I am having the same problem with the tab and CRLF
characters being stripped from tables when they are sent to
the Publish server upon activation with 3.0.1CE. For me it is
related to the container (Jetty 6.1.1). A fresh bootstrap with
the Tomcat bundle doesn't have the problem, but a fresh bootstrap
with Jetty 6.1.1 has the problem. A rollback to 3.0.0rc2 on Jetty
6.0.1 works fine.
Dug into the ActivationCommand code a little, but nothing jumped
out. Any thoughts?
