Hi Chris,
Am not aware of what app server you're using, but if you're using
tomcat in standalone, or within jboss, use this link to set the session
timeout at a global level:

See section, 4. Setting session timeout
I believe you can also set this timeout at a context level, but I have had
inconsistent behaviour with tomcat on that, so recommend doing it at a
global level. You could also change the admin template to warn users that
they need to do regular saves so as not to lose updates due to session
timeouts?
