I'm afraid I really don't know. I've only used the search API for a
very short, simplistic blog-like page in one of my magnolia project,
and querying one repository after the other was fine by me, if
nothing else, because i wasn't that much interested in providing
direct links to the docs themselves, but to the page in which they
were linked, which anyway required me to match results from the DMS
and from the website.
If not, is it possible so somehow do 2 separate queries and then
merge the results but in a such a way that the relevance is intact?
I haven't looked into relevance scoring either.
I'd be curious to know if someone had investigated the subject, though.
