Thanks Sean. This is really is a late reply. Sorry was stuck up with other issues. I got the multi select control working, had to write my own control class as you had highlighted. I took the info.magnolia.cms.gui.dialog.DialogSelect class as a sample and set the value type to VALUETYPE_MULTIPLE.
