i thought this just pointed to a template?
im confused as to what the parameter 'template' actually does...
i will investigate on monday....

In your template with the simple mail tag, you should be able to do
something like:
<cms:setNode var="currentPara" />
<cmsu:simpleMail to="${param.toAddrFrmField}"
from="${param.fromAddrFrmField} subject="${param.formFieldSubject}"
template="${currentPara.someTemplate}"/>
param is a jsp implicit object containing a map to all the form field
values. The above is a really simple example. In truth you'd want to
do some field validation before attempting this so your web page doesn't
become a spam gateway.
