I could think of two possible solutions:
1. Do not use simpleNav but rather your own navigation mechanims.
Then, when you loop through the page nodes to be displayed in the
nav, check for the template and hide/show the item.
2. Add a scriptlet to the template you would like to hide which sets
the "do not show this page in navigation" node value to true each
time the page is displayed in the author instance. This is an ugly
hack and not 100% bullet proove. But it will most likely work for you.

Will

Hello fellow magnolians :)
a quick question....
is there a way i can force certain templates to always be hidden in
the
nav? i know i can do it in page properties but as we all know you cant
trust users as far as you can thrown them :) so i would always like
these
pages hidden in navigation but maybe shown in a sitemap
i tried adding a node called hideInNav with avalue of true on the
dialog
but it doesnt seem to save it.
all help appreciated
